Job title: Throughlife Support & Information Engineer (Technical Publications)

Location: Warton – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £41,361+ dependant on skills and experience

We have a requirement for a number of Through Life Support and Information Engineers to join the Typhoon Technical Publications Team within the Technical Information Section based at Warton (with flexible working opportunities). You will be highly motivated with a positive approach to continuous improvement and Customer satisfaction. You will be passionate about delivering quality approved data and able to understand their contribution to business goals and departmental outputs.

The primary purpose of the role is to maintain Typhoon Publications in line with departmental processes, Service Level Agreements and Eurofighter specifications.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be working as part of a team writing procedural and descriptive maintenance publications in order to deliver in line with Customer requirements
  • The role will require you to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to add value and share knowledge
  • You will be utilising current authoring toolsets and developing future ways of working, utilising emerging technology for digital engineering and advanced information systems
  • It is key you progress work within the appropriate timescales and budgets

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Good IT Skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • An engineering background, preferably in an aerospace environment, although skills/experience from other sectors such as maritime, land or an appropriate production engineering/manufacturing environment would be considered
  • Have a working knowledge of engineering principles and the product lifecycle
  • Applicable work experience or HNC (or above) in a relevant STEM subject

Desirable:

  • Have a knowledge of Aerospace working practices
  • Experience of Standard Generalised Mark-Up Language (SGML), Extensible Mark-Up Language (XML) and S1000D
  • Experience/knowledge of technical authoring toolsets

You will need to have an ability to work with specialist staff and be adaptable to cross programme working where you can add value and share knowledge.

Fast Jet Support is part of the Support and Supply Chain Organisation within the Europe & International line of business.
