Job title: Technical Lead – Detail Design HVAC

Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £49,400 (depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the detail design and development of HVAC Systems on the River Class Destroyer programme under the guidance of the HVAC Team Lead
  • Providing your technical leadership and expertise to provide advice and guidance to other HVAC Detail Designers within the River Class Destroyer Programme
  • Working with the Team Lead to ensure quality expectations are met
  • Acting as the main focal point for the HVAC discipline within Detail Design, championing continuous improvement and ensuring best practice
  • Checking of HVAC engineering deliverables and outputs against company and industry standards, rules and regulatory requirements

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the HVAC Discipline within Detail Design in the Marine Engineering Systems or similar industry sector.
  • Experience in the design, build, integration, support and operation of HVAC Systems within CAD package(s) (FORAN)
  • Experience in more than one phase of LCM, with sufficient experience of total LCM to enable awareness of adjacent phases / through life engineering issues
  • Ability to coach, mentor & assist others

Desirable:

  • EngTech status or working towards IEng or CEng status (UK)

The Detail Design Engineering Team:

This role offers you the opportunity to be involved in the exciting Canadian River Class Destroyer programme, in which you will work within the Detail Design Engineering Team alongside various other Engineering and Project Management teams, along with a range of industry partners across the UK and Canada. In this role you will provide technical knowledge and experience to the growing HVAC Mechanical Team, working within a team of other Detail Designers.
