Job Title: Senior Subcontract Projects Manager – Resilience

Location: Barrow-In-Furness

Salary: £65,000 + company car allowance

What you’ll be doing:

  • Influence a cross functional team to deliver multiple high value (up to £50m) development and complex projects; taking responsibility for delivery of supply chain requirements across all functions involved in the process (e.g. Engineering, Commercial, Quality, Operations) within agreed delivery timeframes, influencing and managing cross functionally to deliver in accordance with the customer requirements for Cost, Quality and Schedule
  • Support stakeholders and Control Account Managers (CAMs) on activities to generate, negotiate and place contracts with selected suppliers. Activities include agreed scope definition, contracting frameworks, prices and delivery schedules
  • Act as Mentor / Coach to others within the Supply Chain function to facilitate a best practice learning environment
  • Support the development and analysis of an appropriate reporting structure to ensure the identification of opportunities and risks impacting on the business are understood and any actions required will be achieved in a timely manner

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Leadership at a Senior Level
  • Relevant Project Management Qualification or equivalent by experience, within Supply Chain would be advantageous
  • Management, leadership, and business executive skills

Desirable:

  • Skills and experience at an executive level including Project Management, use of project management tools, product awareness, commercial acumen, engineering acumen, financial awareness, and effective influencing skills.
  • Background in supply chain transformation, improvement and/or manufacturing readiness or engineering

The Supply Chain Project Management team:

This is a critical role within the SSNA Programme, leading multiple critical supply chain projects. As a Senior Subcontract Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing gap-bridging projects to scale supply chain capacity for future programmes. In addition to managing the commercial, schedule/manufacturing and quality requirements of the supplier, this includes influencing all cross-functional activity from the concept design stage through to final test and commissioning.
