Job Title: Senior SHE Advisor

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and delivering an improving safety culture which ensures compliance with all Company SHE legislation
  • Leading, developing and managing a team within a complex safety engineering environment
  • Providing leadership for the implementation of the management system
  • Ensuring compliance with the SHE Management System, mitigating risks and improving overall SHE performance
  • Implementing the SHE management strategy across the programme adopting the principals of CDM where appropriate
  • Influencing the design of the vessels taking into consideration build ability of the product to reduce risk at the build and commissioning phases
  • Project leading for identifying SHE risks/opportunities and lessons learned to improve cost estimates, product design and production processes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Experience of working as a SHE professional in a high risk environment
  • Knowledge of SHE Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and Guidance
  • Evidence in previous roles of driving safety culture and safety improvements
  • Investigation and Report writing evidenced within CV
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent

Desirable

  • Audit and investigation skills
  • Experience of working in a Manufacturing, Production or Construction environment
  • Ability to deliver training / coaching

The SHE team:

As a Senior Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor, you will be involved in one of the most exciting engineering programmes in the UK, providing professional and accurate SHE advice to ensure safe systems of work in the construction and delivery of both Astute and Dreadnought Submarines. This role will provide an opportunity to gain a breadth of knowledge across various areas of the build and or non-build delivery organisation whilst providing an opportunity to develop SHE professional skills and experience in a high-risk environment. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
