Job Title: Senior Secretarial Administrator

Location: Barrow-In-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Proactively collating and analysing information from various sources in order to produce reports, schedules, presentations, summaries and letters as required for internal/external distribution
  • Support and control diary management and meeting requirements for line manager ensuring appropriate time management to allow adequate meeting preparation
  • Understand the need to engage with senior management as and when appropriate in order to report, obtain authorisation, highlight and escalate issues
  • Undertakes a range of specific secretarial and administrative duties to provide support to Senior Managers and management teams and contribute to the smooth running of the department
  • Liaising effectively with stakeholders (colleagues/other internal teams/customers/suppliers) making sure a proactive response is maintained when dealing enquiries and the exchanging of information
  • Have a clear understanding of Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) requirements within the workplace and proactively facilitate any health and safety actions in support of a compliant office environment

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Office management experience
  • Communicating in an efficient and professional manner, to internal and external stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Experience using Expenses or ordering systems
  • Experience using Concur or SAP

The Nuclear Safety & Regulation Department:

You’ll be joining a 100 staff strong team focusing on nuclear safety and radiation protection compliance and assurance activities as well as operational services supporting day-to-day delivery of submarine build programmes at the shipyard This role will give you a great view of the business and no two days will be the same. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
