Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer – Zero Defects

Location: Warton/Samlesbury. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £54,793+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Visiting suppliers in the UK and abroad to conduct audits, investigations and support other functional engagements with Suppliers with a focus on Quality Improvement and Quality Risk Management
  • Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of the Zero Defects Process Set
  • Leading collaboration with a range of external stakeholders and internal stakeholders across business functions, including Procurement and Engineering to deliver Improvement Plans at selected Suppliers
  • Coaching and developing BAE Systems and Supplier staff members in delivery of Risk Assurance activities. Generating relevant and appropriate Quality performance Leading and Lagging indicators/measures as well as maintain and provide performance reports in support of the Management Review structure
  • Input/management of Quality related data into relevant toolsets/documents/records
  • Driving process understanding, measurement and improvement to achieve business-led Quality improvements

Your skills and experiences:

  • Continuous Improvement and Quality Risk Management
  • Supply Chain Quality Management – Knowledge of how Customer and Supplier Relationships work
  • People Management
  • Assessment and Investigation experience
  • A good communicator with strong presentation skills, and the ability to exchange factual information clearly at multiple levels internally and externally
  • Strong IT literacy, especially with Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of quality requirements for aerospace and defence contracts (e.g. EN9100, Defence Regulations / Standards)

The Supply Chain team:

You will be joining a dynamic team covering the supply chain of a variety of aircraft platforms anticipated to deliver results when working with suppliers of aerospace commodities and be able to represent BAE Systems in a professional manner whilst participating in a high visibility project.
