Job title: Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Samlesbury. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £47,683+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Establishing and maintaining proactive engagements with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provision of effective Quality Assurance support to the Support & Services Supply Chain stakeholders through:

Undertaking Root Cause Analysis to understand the cause of any identified issues

Undertaking Quality Investigations into identified concerns

Supporting the management, and timely closure, of Customer Complaints

Managing and performing internal system / process / product / service audits and assessments

Overseeing, supporting and assuring the management and resolution of issues and queries in a timely manner

Provision of Quality advice and support

  • Supporting the wider organisations Quality objectives through:

Management system deployment and maintenance, including Quality Policies, Processes and Procedures

Quality Management Reviews and Performance Reporting pertaining to Quality matters

Supporting third party / other certification visits

Proactively identifying, supporting and deploying Quality improvement activities

You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic in your approach to work with the proven ability to work both independently and within a busy team environment. Your good communication / presentation skills will enable you to exchange information to influence decisions and people. A keen eye for detail is essential.

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • HND or HNC (or equivalent relevant experience) ideally in Quality or a STEM subject (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
  • Experience of Quality Assurance and Quality practices / techniques
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good IT literacy and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of quality requirements for aerospace and defence contracts (e.g. EN9100, defence regulations and standards)
  • Experience of working in a customer support environment
  • Working knowledge of Supply Chain management

The Quality Support & Services team:

As a Senior Quality Engineer you will be influencing key stakeholders to ensure the correct Quality practices are followed. This will involve leading problem solving activities in a logical approach to find working solutions; this must be done whilst building relationships and influencing others at all levels of the organisation.

You will be working closely with our Support and Services Supply Chain teams to ensure that the products delivered meet customer and regulatory requirements. Undertake review and reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of quality practices across the business area. Provide guidance, advice and support on all quality related matters.
