About the OPPORTUNITY
We currently have a new and exciting opportunity as a Senior Project Manager – ERP to join our Defence Delivery line of business based in Adelaide, South Australia.

Reporting to the Portfolio Manager- Defence Delivery, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of a series of complex projects that focus initially on manufacturing optimisation leading to digital manufacturing transformation. This includes working closely with key stakeholders/vendors to resolve/mitigate risks and issues relating to successful delivery of the Program of Work and subsequent realisation of expected benefits.
Key responsibilities include:
- Be responsible for end to end project scoping, planning and execution of projects with budgets between $0.5M to $10M and teams of up to ~15 people including, business analysis, architects, tech leads, test leads, subject matter experts and change managers
- Facilitate workshop and meetings to ensure projects are managed and delivered to agreed scope, quality, time and budget where outcomes are fit for purpose
- Build, lead, motivate and manage cross functional delivery teams/functions to meet expected delivery outcomes/commitments
- Manage and maintain engaging relationship with diverse and multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity of project activities and outcomes
- Maintain project governance including active monitoring of project RAID logs, resource allocation and future demands
- Ensure the adherence to project management methodology, governance and assurance practices in accordance with BAE IM&T and PMO standards
- Prepare business case submissions for internal investment board approval including any re submissions due to change requests, scope changes and reprioritizations
- Partner with BAE System’s procurements team to execute diligent supplier selection practices that include preparation of tender materials, evaluation of tender responses and negotiation of scope, pricing and delivery timeframes
- Work closely with DDC Delivery to ensure successful transition to business as usual with associated and a sustainable support model including service roadmap, skills transfer, service asset and configuration details e.g. licenses and budget
About YOU
- Senior project/program management experience designing and delivering complex transformational projects to drive the schedule of activities, resources and interdependencies to deliver on the agreed scope to budget
- Demonstrated experience in delivering complex, multi phased ERP type projects, ideally within the manufacturing industry
- An experienced highly motivated, commercially astute, autonomous Information Technology (IT) leader
- Proven experience in managing software lifecycle development and execution including driving requirements definition, analysis, gaps and outcomes to ensure solution recommendations are fit for purpose
- Manage/oversee the effective flow of work to avoid bottlenecks, hold-ups, over allocations e.g. via lean agile methods, SAFE, Kanban, Scrum etc
- An end-to-end understanding of the manufacturing lifecycle (engineering, cost/ quality planning, supply chain and production scheduling) is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal with proven experience in partnering with internal and external parties to understand and articulate outcomes being sought by the project and translating this into a schedule for execution
- Provide an escalation point and lead the resolution and/or mitigation of risks and issues that cannot be addressed within a project
- Degree qualification in Project Management (e.g. PMI-PMP) or relevant discipline with an experience working within organisations that followed either PMI, Prince2 or Agile methods
- Extensive and senior vendor management skills (engagement and management to agreed contractual commitments
