Job Title: Senior Project Manager
Location: Barrow in Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Starting from £60,350 – depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a programme of work that integrates with the engineering design programme for SSNA
- Developing capable project management organisation system of work, establishing ways of working and managing a diverse range of activities across a large team in a complex programme
- Developing a project management operating model that supports the needs of the programme as it transitions through design and into build
- Working closely with Engineering, Planning, Infrastructure and Supply Chain to maintain alignment of requirements and plans
- Management of risk and opportunities that will deliver the optimum build strategy and schedule
- Reporting, governance and resource management for the team
Your skills and experiences:
- Comprehensive Project Management experience within a highly governed and multi-disciplinary environment
- Ability to provide clarity to senior stakeholders in complex situations and where there is programme uncertainty
- Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), managing budgets, schedules and performance
- Experience of growing and developing a team professionally
- Extensive stakeholder management experience

The SSNA Build, Manufacturing Engineering & Test team:
This is an exciting new role offering the opportunity to lead project management activity in a critical area of the programme. You’ll develop a team and help shape the future of how we build and test Submarines. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
