Job title: Senior Engineer – Requirements and Acceptance
Location: Bristol, Portsmouth or Glasgow; We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £51,645 dependant on skills and qualifications
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide engineering expertise to the development and maintenance of project requirements including initial proposals for verification and validation details associated with the requirements
- Engage with customers and suppliers in order to support the resolution of relatively complex problems and issue
- Assist with the provision of engineering expertise and documentation/models across a range of associated systems engineering processes
- Generate bid documentation and deliverables to a high quality and within short timescales
- Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Demonstrably good understanding and experience of the engineering lifecycle, preferably within the Marine or Defence sector
- Excellent understanding and experience of requirements development, management, tools and techniques
- Good understanding of configuration management principles, processes and general Systems Engineering activities
Desirable:
- Working experience in Jira, Confluence, requirements management and system modelling tools such as DOORS, CATIA No Magic suite or Enterprise Architect
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Systems Engineering Team:
As a Requirements Engineer within the Naval Ships Future Programmes team you will have the opportunity to work on future projects with national and international customers.
Leading the development and management of project requirements, their high-level verification and assisting the Subject Matter Experts to develop evidence to demonstrate to the customer that the requirements have been met. We have a range of opportunities and concept designs being worked on in an exciting and vibrant team, in which you’ll play an important part in the development through to bid submission and beyond. Alongside design and delivery, we are seeking involvement from you in our process investigation to become more efficient throughout the Engineering Lifecycle.
