Job Title: Senior Data Governance Specialist

Location: Scotstoun, Glasgow; We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £44,910 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing senior subject matter expertise to the management team, with regards to Data Quality & Governance functionality
  • Taking the lead on investigation to get to the root cause of data quality issues within the programmes product data
  • Developing the requirements and identifying any potential or current data quality issues
  • Providing the weekly data quality networks
  • Supporting and coordinating the running of the programmes Data Quality Governance Board and the associated Working Groups and Data Steward Communities of Interest
  • Provisioning and delivering the Data Quality process and training development and delivery to the programme engineering community

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience of Data Quality Management/Governance in a similar sized organisation
  • Understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle to bring a product to market
  • Exposure to PLM, CAD and ERM systems
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Desirable:

  • Experience in Data Management, Data Requirements Capture, and Documentation
  • Previous use of Data Governance tools
  • Prior involvement in complex engineering projects

Candidates at all levels should possess an academic qualification in either an engineering or other related STEM subjects, as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications such as DAMA CDMP and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution which includes the British Computing Society (BCS) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). Candidates are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered or in the process of attaining it.

The Product Data & Configuration team:

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be on the frontline of an international programme for the Canadian River Class Destroyer, a programme that will allow you to gain exposure and build your network within the business as you will be working across a range of teams within the entire programme. No two days are the same with a variety of interesting work on this long term project during which there will be frequent interaction with the customer to ensure the project is delivered. You will be reporting into the Senior Engineering Manager and working alongside other Data Governance professionals from who you will learn and build on your knowledge. We will also support you with your development and growth through further learning and support to achieving chartership in the future.
