Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Portsmouth, Broad Oak. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £42,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Undertaking specific Quality Assurance activities across Maritime Services on a range of projects, including Warship Support, Radars, Underwater Weapons and Simulation & Training
- Able to access, have a clear understanding of and develop the local Management System documentation e.g. policies, procedures, workmanship standards, risk assessments and processes across Maritime Services as required
- Awareness of Customer Quality conditions
- Responsible for leading internal audits and conducting audits
- Support the management of non-conformance resolution and corrective actions with suppliers, key stakeholders and process owners
- Responsible for conducting Quality investigations
- Support requirements relating to certification activities
- Support the delivery of results via continuous improvement activities
Your skills and experiences:
- Proven experience within Quality Assurance and experience of conducting Audits
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards ( ISO9001 and / or AS9100) and third-party certification
- Practical experience of Quality Assurance tools and processes, especially root cause analysis
- Knowledge of the design and product lifecycle

The Maritime Services Quality Assurance team:
The Maritime Services QA team works closely with projects delivering a range of products and services to our defence customers in the UK and abroad. The QA team provides assurance that Quality requirements are being met so that our outputs deliver the capability our customers demand and rely on. You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, with the potential to lead into more senior positions within a global business.
