Job Description

The role is responsible for supporting the Technical Manager in all aspects of
the planning and delivery of in-country capability upgrades into the Qatar Typhoon
Fleet, providing project management subject matter expertise to the on-shore requirements for
planning, delivery and execution of new capability introduction.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure
    the effective management of Maintenance Support activities by setting delivery targets,
    monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes. Prioritises
    activities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Represents the
    Technical Integration Manager at management reviews, where necessary.
  • Responsible for supporting the Technical Integration Manager in the development and
    implementation of the on-shore capability insertion programme for Typhoon FOC
    drops, driving delivery of schedules, TEPIDOIL / DLOD activities and all associated
    integration activities across the DUKHAN MOB.
  • Responsible for the assessment of escalated issues regarding armaments capability
    for any impact on Continuing Airworthiness and generating effective resolution, or
    sponsoring escalation to management, as appropriate.
  • Ensure the integration of Capability Integration activity within the business, including
    the engagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process. Provide support and
    guidance to the team(s) on the development of capability ribbons to track and drive
    progress in delivery.
  • Manage compliance with the Ground Service Exposition, its associated procedures
    and standards, and any other Company procedures and standards, as applicable.
    Identify, propose and implement change as required, whilst ensuring compliance.
  • Promote the application of Human Factors, Error Management, Risk Management
    and Safety Assurance within the Maintenance Support team(s), together with the
    proactive analysis, mitigation and management of Hazards.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding and application of the relevant Continuing
    Airworthiness Regulatory framework, and ensure any Regulatory-driven changes are
    implemented within the Maintenance Support team(s) activities. Ensure compliance
    with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable contractual requirements, e.g. through support
    to contract reviews, and ensure any changes are implemented into the Maintenance
    Support activities, as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Experienced and competent leader at this level. Requires broad and in-depth product
    knowledge, expert competence within own technical/subject area and an
    understanding of the relationship with interfacing / contributory areas, appropriate to
    the role. Ensure personal and team compliance with the risk assessments and SHE
    policies and procedures.
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (including a City & Guilds 2675 or 2661
    or equivalent), ideally in Aeronautical Engineering and / or a recognised Engineering
    Degree from either aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic or other
    studies relevant to the maintenance and continuing airworthiness of aircraft.
  • 5 years practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety
    standards and safe operating practices.
  • 2 years relevant work experience within the aircraft maintenance environment working
    at a supervisory level exercising certifying privileges.
  • Minimum 6 months experience on type (in the last two years).
    A comprehensive knowledge of Acceptable Means of Compliance documentation set.
