Job Title: Procurement Leader
Location: Barrow-In-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £45,628+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the co-ordination of Supply Chain (SC) activities within your area of responsibility and drive a culture of added value. Those areas are:
- Capability Development and Improvement, aligning requirements to the appropriate stages of the SC programme lifecycle
- Holistic Risk and Opportunity for the wider SC team, engaging with various levels within Programme Delivery and the SC Function, communicating and informing cross-functional and external stakeholders of performance, threats & failures and determining mitigation activities
- Management of governance and coherency, ensuring there is one way of working across all Integrated Delivery Teams (IDTs)
- Supply Chain Excellence, supporting activities that deliver on People, Process, Technology & Governance, ensuring the SC is fit for the future
- Deputise for the Senior Supply Chain Manager when required
Your skills and experiences:
- Supply Chain, Procurement or Project Management experience gained in a highly regulated sector
- Excellent Stakeholder Management and communication skills
- Experience of working within the global/international aerospace, defence and/or on MOD packages of work is desirable but not necessary
- Previously held line management responsibility
- Professional qualifications (CIPS/PMDY) are desirable

The Procurement team:
As a Procurement leader at BAE Systems, you may be expected to manage a number of Supply Chain Professionals, ensuring your team deliver Scope and fulfil Processes, Toolsets & Reporting requirements. This is a fast paced, commercially driven procurement environment with a varied range of development opportunities, working as part of a diverse team to deliver part of the UK’s National Defence Programme.
