Job Title: Principal Operations Engineer – Compliance

Location: Barrow – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £40,748 + dependent on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Facilitating and completing Planned Statutory Inspections, as well as Planned & Reactive 3rd Party Maintenance
  • Review Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) with SHE Advisors and subject matter experts
  • Driving Engagement with 3rd Party Contractors and Service Providers prior to commencement of works to ensure Safe Systems of Work are in place
  • Conduct internal audits and process confirmations and field verifications, to provide objective evidence of compliance
  • The approval and submission of Quotations for Works, within set financial approval parameters, and maintaining and tracking all required records
  • Delivering departmental processes and performing Asset Validation activities to ensure on time delivery of all statutory and planned maintenance

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience in an Engineering, Maintenance or Asset Management environment
  • Strong understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR and general Asset Management principles and practices
  • Experience in managing and working to safe systems of work (SSOW) with a Safety First Culture

Desirable:

  • An understanding of planned preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Working Knowledge of SAP EAM (Electronic Asset Management)
  • Health and safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH)

The Plant Maintenance Operations Team:

In Plant Maintenance Operations, we are a growing and developing team that are responsible for supplying a varied and wide scope of support to the Submarines Business site wide. In this role office work and the need to traverse production environments and plant areas combine to provide a variation in day-to-day tasks. You will have the chance to develop relations with senior stakeholders and have the opportunity to pursue additional training and qualifications, potentially leading to further education opportunities for the right candidate.

We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
