Job title: Principal Engineer – Site Safety Case (Technical Support)

What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for the Technical coordination for relevant committees (Nuclear Safety Committee, Nuclear Safety Documentation Committee)
- Undertaking all activities in a manner consistent with Company Policy, Business Processes and the Quality Assurance programme
- Supporting line management in undertaking project analysis to plan work efficiently, provide project status and identify risks and mitigation features
- Assisting line management with the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System
- Ensuring that line management is aware of any shortfalls or additional requirements in relation to area of responsibility
- Identifying training and personal development requirements and raise as appropriate with line management
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Engineering or physical sciences)
- Previous experience in safety analysis and safety case production for high hazard industries
Desirable:
- Previous experience working for a nuclear site and/or on the submarine programme
- Some relevant nuclear and/or safety degree programmes at these universities: Heriot-Watt, Aberdeen, Cranfield, Strathclyde, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham

The Site Safety Case Team:
The Site Safety case team is growing and developing as we undertake the Dreadnought and Site Redevelopment Programmes. We are currently producing cases covering Astute and Dreadnought build and commission and have responsibility for Periodic Review of Safety. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
