Job title: Principal Engineer- Site Engineering Authority

What you’ll be doing:
- Overseeing the engineering governance and assurance over NDE, Calibration and Emergency Response Infrastructure and Systems
- Front Line Engineering Response for above systems
- Delivering Site Asset Management Processes to ensure a fit for purpose asset base across the site
- Producing and validating engineering assessments to ensure equipment can achieve its required safety function
- Responding to emerging engineering issues and delivering a solution
- Managing configuration baseline, ensuring an effective maintenance strategy and carrying out engineering health assessments
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree qualified in a STEM subject, or equivalent experience within Engineering
- Working and leading multi discipline areas
- Have experience with Asset Management and Facilities Management
- Experience with systems including but not limited to Design, Operation and/or Modifications
Desirable:
- Exposure within the Nuclear industry and ionizing radiation
- Understanding of asset management principles

The Site Engineering Authority – Radiological Team:
This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team tasked with general oversight and assurance of the systems. This role offers a wide range of exposure to different teams across the Barrow site, from the Emergency Arrangements Team to the Health Physics Department, whilst individually being given the opportunity for professional growth within the function. Joining this team allows you to gain a general oversight and assurance of the systems as well as aspects of day-to-day maintenance and engineering, ensuring systems are fit for purpose. We offer relocation support across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
