Job Title: IT Portfolio Support Capability Lead

Location: Preston. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will have line lead responsibilities for all Project Support Leads, providing direction and leadership
  • Operating high quality Project Management & Control (PM&C) processes across all portfolios of projects within EIT and acting as an escalation points for all PSL’s
  • Providing direction and leadership to Project Support Leads (PSLs) in implementing and reporting on all control mechanisms applied to each project within their portfolios to ensure projects are being delivered to time, cost and quality, using correct toolsets, processes and procedures and providing accurate and timely reporting
  • Adapting and applying PM&C practices in different circumstances and to guide and instruct others (including PSLs) in their application
  • Identify and implementing continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle, to support accurate and up to date MI on which the business can make robust decisions, this includes sharing of best practices across the teams and wider PM community

Your skills and experiences:

  • Practised PMO professional with experience of operating in a highly governed PMO environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Project Management Methodologies and Project Controls, evidenced and demonstrated in a professional role
  • Broad knowledge and experience of working on complex Programmes
  • In-depth understanding of risk, issue and dependency management at project and portfolio level
  • Proven organisational skills and attention to detail
  • MS Project Server Online or similar PM toolset
  • MS Office – advanced Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Project management qualification, e.g., Prince2, APM/PMDY

The PMO (Portfolio Management Office) team:

You will be working collaboratively in a growing team of PMO professionals and reporting directly to the Head of PMO. There are multiple opportunities for career growth and progression via a mature and progressive Project Management function spanning the entire organisation.
