Job title: Instructional Design Lead

Location: Portsmouth – Broad Oak. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Circa £50,000 commensurate on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Contribute to team discussions and comply with the agreed and required Instructional and Course Design processes
  • Responsible for compliance and coherence with the plan, schedule and supporting media components
  • Responsible for compliance with the project style guide and use of any directed course content generation tools (e.g. StoryLine 3)
  • Adoption of, and directed application of, Instruction and Course Design Tools as required and directed by the business and project (e.g. Aquila)
  • Support any and all governance activities as required
  • Monitor and manage time and cost reporting

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience generating and contributing to logical and quantifiable outputs and ability to break down and tackle large complex problems
  • Have a good understanding in the application of various standards and types of ADDIE models, including the identification and analysis of knowledge skills and attitudes, training, enabling objective and key learning point decomposition.
  • Ability to construct all decomposed elements into logical, structured, and coherent training lessons and courses
  • Understand the constituent outputs required to support training development and delivery, generating those that are within their remit
  • Experience of adopting and applying a Systems Approach to Training (SAT) and articulated in the appropriate standards (e.g. JSP 822)

The Type 26 Training Team:

The Type 26 Training Team are responsible for the development and delivery to the customer of the crew training that turns the Global Combat Ship into a world leading capability. The range and scale of the work ranges from platform-based roles and the introduction of new capabilities through to modifications to existing systems and equipment. You will be an integral part of delivering this new capability.
