Job Title: FCAS Human Factors Engineer

Location: Warton

Salary: £41,361-£45,576 dependent of skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Cutting edge Human Factors research into new and novel technologies to enhance human performance
  • Developing Human Machine Interfaces across all aspects of the airborne platform and ground based support systems
  • Carrying out human performance assessments in high fidelity facilities, whilst interacting with the end users including pilots, maintainers, trainers or support specialists, and much more
  • Working closely with other engineering teams, partners, suppliers and the Customer through the product lifecycle
  • Supporting the documentation and communication of designs and assessment findings to a variety of stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent in human factors or related subject (e.g. STEM subjects, psychology, user centred design etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience in conducting experiments and user assessments
  • Military Air domain knowledge and/or experience
  • Awareness of Human Factors design standards

The Human Factors Engineering FCAS Team:

We’re currently looking for enthusiastic, creative people to join our Human Factors team at our site in Warton, Lancashire.

We have great opportunities for Human Factors practitioners to work on complex, innovative and world leading projects such as FCAS. Join us and you will be working alongside other functions to deliver products that will be in service for 40+ years and being continually upgraded to maintain Customers Air Defence capabilities.

In this role You will need excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with an ability to engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be enthusiastic and able to think creatively, having the courage to challenge and drive improvement. You will be a natural problem-solver, able to use your own initiative and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
