Job title: Flight Systems Support Engineer

Salary: £47,683+ depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Reporting to the Fast Jet Support team Engineering Manager, prioritise workloads to:
- Provide technical responses to customer initiated issues affecting the operability of their Hawk fleets located around the world. This will require specialist Flight Systems (Mechanical) knowledge to generate technically robust recommendations that the Operators can apply to safely maximise Flying Hour (FH) availability. Some examples of the kind of tasking are as follows:
System/component failure investigations
Safety impact assessments
Requests for component/system maintenance deferrals/extensions
Test plans
Obsolescence and alternate component use
Repair scheme advice
- Co-ordinate and review Technical Publication Data Module validations
Generate Data Module technical change requests
Review and validate Data Module amendments before release to the Customer
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders (both Supplier and Customer)
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Minimum of HNC / HND / Degree in a STEM related subject
- Mechanical engineering experience
- Knowledge gained through at least one part of the Systems Engineering Lifecycle (preferably on Hawk)
- Proficient in the use of IT systems and standard office-style applications
Desirable:
- Flight Systems knowledge
- Practical working experience in one or multiple Through-Life Support disciplines
- Good IT skills with collaboration and task management applications such as Trilogi, TeamCentre (PLM) and Jira

We currently have an exciting and demanding vacancy for a Hawk, In Service, Flight Systems Support Engineer working in Design Authority Services within S&S SDU.
The role is UK-based, reporting into the DAS Principal Consultant Engineering (TA) – Flight Systems for the production and support of technical query responses, supporting minor investigations and technical publication validations.
