Job title: Flight Systems Assistant Engineer

Location: Warton – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £30,571-£33,732 (dependent on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Liaising with the other Flight Systems Engineers and other discipline areas to support the day-to-day engineering design and development activities
  • Liaising with other engineering and project areas in a collaborative environment to develop engineering solutions
  • Performing engineering tasks dependent on lifecycle phase including requirements development, system and equipment design and development, modelling and analysis, system integration, qualification and certification, and testing
  • Supporting numerous projects and platforms in both the Air and Maritime sector, covering a diverse range of mechanical, electrical and fluid systems
  • Working with customers to support delivered systems and resolve issues

Your skills and experiences:

  • 2 A-Levels or equivalent experience or qualifications in a relevant STEM subject (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Physics, Maths, Science)
  • Competent in Microsoft Office packages and an ability to develop competence with more specialist toolsets as necessary
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written means and a good problem solving capability

Flight Systems Future Aircraft team:

As a Flight Systems Assistant Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of mechanical, electrical and fluidic aircraft systems such as landing gear, fuel, electrical power generation, crew escape, environmental control, thermal management, flying controls, and propulsion integration. You will be involved in aspects of the full engineering lifecycle which could include anything from concept, requirements definition, through design and development and providing in-service support

This role will provide the opportunity to develop knowledge and technical skills in the engineering specification, development, clearance and support of flight systems, as well as, consolidate core systems engineering principles, with exposure to different aspects of the engineering lifecycle and engagement with different interfacing disciplines, suppliers and Customers
