Job title: Engineer – Auxiliary Systems

Location: Scotstoun – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on qualifications and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assessing Product Change Requests inherited from Type 26 Reference Ship and adopting them for Hunter Class with appropriate amendments or rejecting the Change Request
  • Being the Product Change SME within the Hunter Class Auxiliary Systems Team being the primary interface between T26 and Hunter Class with regards to Product Changes
  • Representing Auxiliary Systems at the Product Change Board being the primary interface between the change management team and the Auxiliary systems team
  • Active engagement with the internal and external stakeholder community to synergize efforts and deliver best for program outcomes
  • Development and maturation of marine engineering processes and contributing to the improvement of product change management processes
  • Supporting system leads with product change process expertise and collaborating closely with the Principal Engineers and the Engineering Manager

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • HNC/HND in an engineering or STEM related subject
  • Experience of Mechanical Engineering systems and knowledge of Mechanical systems design
  • Experience in product change processes in a complex Engineering environment
  • Understanding of Engineering Lifecycle management

Desirable:

  • Experience in the design, build, integration, support and operation of Naval or commercial ships or the offshore platforms
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Auxiliary Systems Engineering Team:
