Job Title: Early Careers & Skills Development Coach (Engineering & Digital)

Location: Frimley. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £41,997 – £45,079 depending on skills and experience

What you will do:

  • As a Skills coach, you will be supporting learners across our South of England sites (Portsmouth, Frimley, Bristol and Weymouth) who are undertaking L6 Degrees, across various engineering disciplines; Networking, Software, Cyber Security, Data/Business Analysis, Electronic Design, Aerospace, alongside our current Engineering skills coach
  • Involved in the delivery of coaching, mentoring and learning interventions that challenge, engage, inspire, and develop learners to become innovative thinkers and creative problem solvers, and fulfil their individual potential, including attending 12 weekly reviews in partnership with college providers.
  • Assess, track and monitor learner progress and performance in line with their apprenticeship standards, and provide key support, to ensure they develop the required skills, knowledge and behaviours, and successfully meet the requirements of the apprenticeship programme and progress within the business. This will require some overnight travel between sites, including occasionally our Barrow site.
  • This role will provide you with the opportunity to embrace continuous professional development and work in partnership with the business and suppliers, to ensure the apprenticeship delivery is in adherence with legislative, compliance and OFSTED requirements, and provides an outstanding high quality and impactful experience

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • We welcome applicants from both academic and non-academic backgrounds, who would like to pursue a vocation in early careers and coaching apprentices
  • Excellent competence, knowledge, skills and experience in an Engineering or Technical related discipline or previous experience as an Apprentice Skills Coach (or related role)
  • Advanced coaching, training and communications skills, able to influence and provide instruction and guidance to learners effectively
  • Able to navigate high volumes of day-to-day tactical and administrative tasks alongside supporting with SEND, safeguarding and welfare concerns
  • Have an enthusiastic, collaborative and people focused drive to succeed as a team

Desirable:

  • Qualified practitioner in Education and Skills training
  • Knowledge and experience of assessment/verification practices, OFSTED and awarding body requirements
  • Relevant Engineering or Technical or Business Qualification – Level 5+
  • A1 Assessor Qualification
  • A relevant Learning and Development qualification
