Job title: Data Scientist

What you’ll be doing:
- Working on a broad range of projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team; driving new operational and customer insights based on data intelligence
- Help driving cultural business change, covering a wide range of business solutions, which depend heavily on Information to enable and offer the customer the required capability
- Applying an analytical mind-set to deliver insight to the business
- Supporting projects ranging from data exploration, analysis, and visualisation, integrating algorithms into software, cutting edge machine learning, and developing data processing pipelines
- Understanding business problems and translating them into testable hypotheses for which analysis can be conducted
- Liaising with business functions such as Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, PM&C and Quality; across multiple boat programmes
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant numerate discipline such as maths, physics, economics, engineering, or similar
- Programming and data handling in Python or similar
- Good communication and presentation skills. Experience of stakeholder management would be beneficial
Desired:
- Experience with Process Mining and Data Visualisation
- Working with varied data sources such as images, video, and text
- An understanding of machine learning, frameworks such as Tensorflow, Scikit Learn, or Pytorch and how they might be applied to data

The Enterprise Information Management team:
As a Data Scientist on the IM& T Enterprise Information Management team, you will be joining a new team working on an exciting new project developing Data Science solutions to real life problems within submarines. You will be working from proffer of discovery right through to end delivery. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
