Job Description
Job Title: Data Architect Practitioner
Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: Circa £45,000
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be assisting with data modelling activities, including creating, reviewing and assuring various models
- Supporting with developing data architecture, including data mapping and data flows
- The role will give you the opportunity to help maintain our Submarines business glossary and local data standards
- Provide advice and guidance on data management policies used within the wider function
- Assist in co-ordinating the review of data management plans
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
- You will need to have a good understanding of data governance and data quality requirements
- Be able to demonstrate success in supporting improvement programmes, ideally related to data
- Have a good ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including both technical and non-technical
Desirable
- Have a reasonable understanding of the TOGAF Framework
- Hold knowledge of the DAMA Framework

The Data Management team:
By joining the team, you will be a helping us to lead in the deployment of BAE’s data strategy. Together, we work to ensure that data is robust and trusted throughout the data value chain as a team, we are responsible for data governance, data architecture and data quality. By joining us in the role, you will play a key part in the delivery of submarines and leading innovative projects that are the first of their kind in the industry, particularly within the defence sector. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
