What will your ‘typical’ day look like? Different that’s for sure…

Join Atom’s Insight and Intelligence team and play a key role in shaping Atom’s future! As a Data Scientist, you’ll leverage big data technologies and advanced analytics to extract valuable insights from our data assets. You’ll build predictive models, develop segmentation strategies, and conduct exploratory analysis to drive strategic decision-making across the bank.

You will also:

  • Develop and implement a variety of predictive models, including those used for pricing, marketing, product optimization, credit risk, and fraud detection.
  • Design and implement segmentation strategies to better understand customer behaviour and tailor our offerings.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover hidden patterns and trends.
  • Develop and deliver end-user solutions that allow business stakeholders to leverage your models and insights for “what-if” analyses.
  • Monitor and maintain model performance to ensure ongoing accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide peer review and challenge analytical findings and models.
  • Contribute to key strategic projects by delivering impactful data-driven insights.
  • Support regular reporting requirements with robust and insightful analysis.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to address emerging business questions and provide timely insights.

What do we need from you?

  • A Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. Maths/Statistics/Economics or similar) with a high degree of statistics or comparable qualification.
  • Considerable experience of data analysis tools, such as R, Tidyverse, dplyr, Python, SQL, SAS or similar.
  • Sound understanding of one or more of the following modelling techniques – collaborative filtering, support vector machines, neural networks, linear and logistic regression, decision trees, random forests.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Good communication skills - able to present analysis at all levels of the business and to non-specialists.
  • Be a self-starter with excellent time management skills
