As Yard Strategist & Terminal Operating System (TOS) Optimization Manager you will lead the standardization and strategic development of yard-centric functionalities within our Terminal Operating System (TOS) and building the yard strategy, with a strong emphasis on performance, automation readiness, and adherence to global optimization standards.

You will act as the global Subject Matter Expert (SME) for yard strategy design and the deployment of advanced TOS optimization modules. Your mission is to minimize local deviations, ensure scalable implementations, and maximize operational impact through precise, data-driven yard planning and execution capabilities.

Location: The Hague, HQ
Position reports to: Head of Centre of Expertise
Travel: Travel may be required depending on business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define, implement, and continuously improve a globally standardized yard strategy framework, ensuring alignment with the TOS architecture and operational models.

• Act as the Optimization SME, driving the use and maturity of modules such as Expert Decking, Prime Route, ASC Optimizer, Autostow, Auto Housekeeping and all other optimization tools across terminals.

• Lead TOS configuration and deployment projects with a focus on yard performance and operational efficiency.

• Drive yard strategy adherence and support terminals in converting process requirements into executable TOS configurations and tuning parameters.

• Serve as the primary interface between terminals and Global Operations/IT on all matters related to TOS yard optimization, translating operational pain points into product evolution.

• Conduct workshops with terminal planning/Execution to validate strategy logic, KPI goals, and optimization scenarios.

• Develop and maintain TOS governance that ensures smooth implementation, reduced customizations, and proactive issue resolution.

• Design and deliver structured training programs to upskill super users, planners, and key users on optimization modules and yard strategy logic.

• Establish and lead a global TOS super-user community, facilitating knowledge sharing, standard configuration management, and best practice exchange across terminals.

• Drive the documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and operational case studies, ensuring continuous learning and improvement in optimization execution.

• Monitor innovation in terminal yard automation, integrating best practices and lessons learned into future deployments.

• Lead strategic projects such as the integration of AI-driven yard planning initiatives.

• Develop and evolve TOS training aligned with process landscape and business requirements. When needed conduct super-user training and ensure end-user training is successfully performed.

• Propose and implement process improvement by gathering input from the TOS user community.

• Lead change through all levels of the organization focused on leveraging technology and systems to improve process and business performance.

What We Are Looking For:

• +8 years of terminal operations experience.

• +3 years of Operational and relevant IT experience working with TOS and port technology. Extensive N4 experience as user/operator or IT.

• Deep knowledge in Advanced Modules in the TOS landscape.

• Deep knowledge in different Yard strategy models and implementations.

• Ability to collaborate effectively and build trust with stakeholders across all levels of the organization; experience working closely with terminal teams is essential.

• Project management experience is an advantage.

• A process‑oriented and solution‑focused mindset, with the ability to improve ways of working.

• Ability to understand complex technical topics, translate them across teams and functions, and communicate information clearly at the appropriate level of detail.

• A curious and continuous learning mindset, with the ability to turn ideas and concepts into practical solutions and business value.

• Excellent English communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
