The Shift Manager – Asset Management serves as the on-shift lead for coordinating asset performance, maintenance activities, and operational continuity, particularly during nights, weekends, and off-peak hours. This role ensures equipment reliability and availability by overseeing real-time response to breakdowns, supporting maintenance teams in troubleshooting, and driving adherence to safety and technical standards.
Acting as the central point of communication between operations, maintenance, and leadership, the Shift Manager analyzes downtime, failure trends, and reporting discrepancies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. The position requires strong technical expertise, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to operate effectively under pressure, while maintaining high levels of safety compliance, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all asset management and maintenance activities during assigned shifts, acting as the central point of contact for operations, maintenance, and vendors
Monitor equipment performance and availability, ensuring rapid response to breakdowns and minimizing operational disruptions
Support maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving technical issues, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards
Analyze discrepancies between Operations and Mechanical breakdown reporting, driving alignment and accuracy in downtime records
Review maintenance data (failure trends, repeat defects, downtime) to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
Coordinate fuel deliveries and critical consumables during off-peak hours to maintain uninterrupted operations
Provide timely updates, escalation, and technical insights to the AM Execution Director and AM Planning Manager
What we are looking for
Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions in live operations
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field (preferred)
3–5 years of experience in terminal operations, maintenance, asset management, or heavy equipment environments
Strong technical knowledge of terminal equipment (RTGs, STSs, MHCs, or similar) and hands-on troubleshooting experience
Ability to analyze maintenance and operational data (MTTR, MTBF, downtime trends) and convert insights into actions
Experience working in shift-based and ideally unionized environments
Familiarity with CMMS/EAM systems (e.g., IFS) and maintenance planning processes
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to act decisively under pressure
Proficiency in MS Excel and data tools for reporting and performance tracking
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a dynamic operational setting
Work Conditions
Shift-based role requiring on-site presence, including nights, weekends, and holidays
High interaction with operational areas, including active equipment and maintenance zones
Accountability for safety compliance, including adherence to LOTO and safe maintenance practices
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Equipment availability during shift (%)
Breakdown response and resolution time (MTTR)
Repeat failure rate / defect recurrence
Alignment and accuracy of breakdown reporting
Safety performance (zero incidents)
Data quality and timely system reporting
Salary: $90K - $120K
Hours: 12 hr Rotating Shifts (3 days on, 4 days off)
