At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be a part of our journey.

What We Can OfferAt APM Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement means every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers by continuously refining how we work. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Exposure to procurement management practices within a leading global terminal operator.
  • Opportunities to develop expertise across sourcing, tendering, supplier management, and procurement planning.
  • Collaboration with diverse stakeholders across multiple terminals and functions.
  • Continuous learning through practical experience, digital tools, data-driven procurement, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage source-to-contract (S2C) activities for assigned goods, commodities, and services across terminals in Spain, ensuring the best total cost of ownership.
  • Execute procurement activities for inventory and non-inventory goods, services, and capital equipment in line with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate tender processes, receive and evaluate bids, and support stakeholder decision-making using defined technical and commercial criteria.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, contractors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable and uninterrupted supply.
  • Process purchase requisitions from request through delivery while meeting service level agreements, stakeholder expectations, and cost objectives.
  • Manage supplier pre-qualification activities and support technical and commercial evaluations during sourcing events.
  • Maintain accurate supplier information and vendor databases, ensuring strong supplier performance monitoring and availability of backup sources.
  • Support procurement planning, demand forecasting, and framework agreement management in collaboration with requestors and business stakeholders.
  • Promote compliance with procurement processes, controls, and digital tools while contributing to automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with shared service teams and global procurement strategies to deliver high-quality procurement services.

What We Are Looking For

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Purchasing, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing practices, supplier management, and vendor evaluation methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and data management capabilities, including proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and other data tools.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications in a procurement or business environment.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, high volumes of requisitions, and competing deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, balancing cost optimization with long-term stakeholder and supplier partnerships.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to understand business needs and deliver effective procurement solutions.
  • High ethical standards, sound judgment, and the ability to objectively evaluate options and make informed decisions.
