The CFS Equipment Operator's purpose is to ensure tasks related to Container Freight Station run smoothly and in the most effective way with focus on safety, efficient, and compliant operation of cargo-handling equipment within the Container Freight Station.

The role also focuses on loading and offloading containers,movement of containers and cargo using forklifts and reach stackers and adherence of HSE standards,yard planner and supervisor instuction for smooth yard operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load and unload containers and cargo as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Lead

  • Operate forklifts (including clamp attachments) for warehouse and receiving activities.

  • Operate reach stackers and empty handlers as required

  • Actively support HSSE coordination and ensure compliance with safety standards.

  • Perform daily inspections of forklifts and machinery and report defects to the Supervisor

  • Immediately correct or report unsafe conditions, hazards, or near misses.

  • Follow all PPE requirements (e.g. safety vests and related safety gear).

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized work area.

  • Receive and execute daily work assignments from CFS Supervisors.

  • Participate in ongoing training opportunities

Key Measures and Targets:

  • Compliance with HSE and PPE rule- 100% compliance.

  • Completion of daily equipment inspections- 100% before operation

  • Safety or equipment-related incidents- Zero preventable incidents

  • Containers/cargo handled vs. daily plan- Meet or exceed plan

  • Damage to cargo, container or equipment- Zero avoidable damage

  • Attendance and shift adherence- 100% adherence

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Someone with:

  • Ability to operate reach stackers.

  • Ability to operate forklifts with clamp attachment

  • Understanding of safe cargo and container handling procedures

  • Basic equipment inspection and defect reporting skills

  • Ability to follow operational instructions accurately

  • Physical ability to work in an active and busy yard operations

  • Strong safety awareness and discipline

  • Reliability in attendance, shift work, and task execution

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload

  • Attention to detail, especially in equipment checks and cargo handling

  • Teamwork and cooperation with yard planner, supervisors and other operators

  • Willingness to learn and participate in training programs

  • Accountability and respect for operational procedure
