Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Wind tunnel test engineer - Experimental aerodynamics (f/m) to join our Engineering team based in Toulouse, France.

Within the Engineering Organisation, we are the Centre dealing with the key flight sciences. This encompasses aerodynamic design and assessment, flight dynamics, loads and aeroelastic analysis and management, and the evaluation of aircraft mass and performance.

We have the transverse view on the whole aircraft: our main mission is to deliver suitable aircraft design and configuration for optimum performance. As such we are fully part of the challenges of today in designing a safe aircraft meeting the highest sustainability and operational standards.

Global capital of aeronautics and European capital for space research, Toulouse is a dynamic city in the southwest of France served by an international airport. Your missions:

The main activities and missions for this position will be:

  • to converge together with the end-users on the test objectives and technical solutions to be put in place in association with the project timeframe and within the available budget
  • to drumbeat the project development within the testing team
  • to take in charge the documentation feeding the testing process: model specification, test programme, test report, data release note
  • to perform the test physically at the selected facility (travels within Europe mainly)
  • to guarantee the validation of the experimental measurements and to ensure the final data delivery to customers in Time, Cost and Quality


Your boarding pass:

As the successful candidate and educated to an engineer degree (or similar level), you should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • aerodynamic based education at engineer level (deep knowledge and background)
  • basis of project management balancing several aspects (techniques, planning, budget, risks, ...)
  • coordination within the testing team
  • advanced level of English
  • autonomy, defining efficient solutions to be applied
  • aeroacoustics knowledge would be an additional asset (but not mandatory)
  • soft skills: proactive, quick and autonomous in operating and responding to issues
