The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.


The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.
VIE Main Requirements:

  • European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old
  • Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any

A VIE within our department "DevOps on-Premise Solutions" as an IT Architect & Integrator (ITAI) (m/f/d) has arisen within Airbus Secure Land Communications GmbH in Ulm.

The university town Ulm is beautifully located at the river Danube between Munich (155km away) and Stuttgart (90km away) and offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities. Here you can enjoy the quality of life under the highest church tower in the world and become part of a city that preserves its historical sights and shapes the future along the Danube at the same time.

The contract duration of VIE is 12 months with starting date from February/March 2025.

Tasks & accountabilities:

Your main task will include:

  • Supporting the Head of DevOps on-premise
  • Support in projects within IT scope
  • Programm in Python, Ansible
  • Support in coordinating the implementation and documentation

Required Skills:

  • Graduated in Information Technology or Engineering or a comparable field of study.
  • General knowledge in IT infrastructure and tools (eg. GitLab, Confluence, Jira, …)
  • First experience with IT processes or capacity to quickly learn will be highly appreciated
  • IT process know-how (preferably first experience with programming)

In addition you are capable to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Problem solving attitude
  • You’re an open-minded teamplayer with a proactive personality that helps you to drive change, solve problems and convince others
  • You are able to easily negotiate in English, an advanced level in German is a plus
