Job Description:

This job position has been opened in the ODAMVC (Composite Manufacturing Technologies) team belonging to the Manufacturing Engineering of AIRBUS Cádiz site. The team is focused on R&T projects and new product industrializations with the additional responsibility of linking the AIRBUS composite ecosystem with the plant and injecting the latest technology advances to the site. This role drives development, industrialization and process optimization with the design for manufacturing and operational excellence on the shop floor as main principles.
Key responsibilities:

  • Lead Collaborative Design for Manufacturing (Co-Design/Co-Industrialization) activities.
  • Contribute across all design phases to ensure industrial requirements are fully integrated and considered.
  • Drive industrial requirements towards Engineering (specific design/Materials & Processes) and the Supply Chain.
  • Define and design the 'Detailed Build Process' for Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Ensure robust, reliable, and safe execution of all operations, adhering to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Organize and support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA/FMEA).
  • Manage technical engineering information.
  • Participate in the Quality Control panel by providing measurement tasks, and organize/ensure process capability.
  • Define components/parts, specifications, and provide support for tooling and jig activities.
  • Contribute to Supply Chain management, ensuring complete data consistency and effectiveness (e.g., missing parts, stock, MRP impacts).
  • Interface with Maintenance teams for operational needs.
  • Manage key/recurrent work preparation issues escalated by the production team/technical shop floor support.
  • Support continuous plant improvement by providing work preparation expertise for issues not managed by WP technical support.
  • Consider economic and planning aspects for all activities.
  • Provide advisory support for budget preparation, occasionally involving CAPEX planning to support cost improvement determination.
  • Evaluate the industrial impact of modifications in collaboration with Industrial Architects (IA), Industrial System Engineers (ISE), Industrial Technology desks, Technical Data Exchange (TDE), and Production Part Approval Process (PPE).
  • Directly communicate and physically participate in production team routines, and collaborate on national/international cross-functional projects.

Essential Requirements:

  • (ME) and Research & Technology (R&T) activities.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Industrial Understanding: Deep knowledge of the industrial infrastructure and means required for composite manufacturing.
  • Software Proficiency: Autonomous user of CATIA, including Generative Shape Design (GSD) and Composite Design modules.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Strong team-working and open-minded spirit.

Valued Additional Skills:

  • Experience in tooling or programming.
  • Advanced user level with Google tools and experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to daily tasks.
  • Previous experience with composite inspection methods, especially NDT.
