An opportunity for a Quality Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid).

RESPONSABILITIES

- Leading a Quality team in programme/project/service, you will act as a role model and as a benchmark for digitalization, innovation and collaboration and you will coach, empower, inspire every employee to live up to the AD Quality vision.
- Ensure that all quality disciplines supporting a programme/project/service are organized, receive the needed inputs and provide consistent and complete deliverables in line with requirements and project schedule.
- Monitoring on a regular basis the spending of the budget and for providing estimates for remaining workload/budget need for both your own activities as well as ensuring this is done for the parts of your team in other organizations within programme/project/service.
- Act as the guardian of conformity and customer quality requirements & expectations ensuring customer feedback is reported and understood in order to identify improvement actions and that the actions are followed up to maintain customer satisfaction.
In doing so you will ensure that behaving with the customer at heart is the guiding principle for every employee.
- Check customer contract / bid for quality requirements, track and implement changes and flow down the specific quality requirements.
- Attest the conformity of the product with regards to contractual requirements and legal rules (as applicable), and monitor the conformity & attestation status.
- You will be the owner of the end to end conformity attestation process with regards to contractual requirements and legal rules, and monitor the conformity & attestation status.
- Contribute to managing and/or manage directly authorities regarding required approvals.
- Manage authorities end-to-end including onsite authorities, on-site quality assurance and managing flight permits (if applicable.).
- Create and update the Quality Plan (e.g. Quality control plan, Quality Management Plan, PA Plan, etc.) and specific inspection plans and ensure their proper implementation.
- Contribute to R&O identification and resolution, identifying risks or opportunities which could have a negative (risk) or positive (opportunity) effect on the achievement of the programme/project/service quality objectives.
- Support APQP (or any equivalent quality planning).
In this context, you will assure application of methods and tools aimed at preventing anomalies in order to support the business.
For the APQP methodology, you will contribute to risk analysis (decision tree) and the determination of APQP relevance and scope for a given project.
- Act pro-actively, strengthening prevention & surveillance within the programme/project/service by defining, monitoring and evaluating KPIs (incl. CNQ), actively supporting business performance dialogue, identifying and analyzing issues (e.g. nonconformance, cost of failure),
Manage process NCRs from initialization, root cause analysis, correction and prevention to close-out (including Alerts/Warning Notices management if applicable).

- Conduct or support reviews for assessing maturity of deliverables (i.e. all required reviews, Maturity Gates.
- Assure compliance of conducted reviews to written requirements and project procedures.
- Support initiatives related to capturing, analyzing, implementing and documenting Lessons Learnt across programme/project/service. You will ensure implementation of actions that will increase effectiveness and efficiency.

SKILLS:

  • Educated to degree level in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Negotiation level communication skills in English and Spanish is required.
  • Experience in Quality area
  • Rigorous, autonomous, customer-oriented mind-set and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication, multi-functional team-working, flexibility, proactive behavior.
  • High level of English.
