We develop top notch, high fidelity Engineering and Training Simulations for a variety of aircrafts, supporting the entire development lifecycle. We are looking for a

Technical Project Manager (d/m/f) A400M Full Flight Simulator Military Software Package

in Manching.

You will be leading a team of highly motivated engineers and be responsible for the successful delivery of the military functionalities within the Full Flight Simulator on cost, time and quality. This project is within an international environment and requires close collaboration and coordination with colleagues from other countries and partner companies.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a simulation / software development team of up to 15 members
  • Plan and lead the system engineering, software design, development, integration and verification activities
  • Define Simulation & Software architectures together with your team
  • Management of externally subcontracted workpackages
  • Controlling and monitoring of the project schedule
  • Cost planning and monitoring
  • Communication Management
  • Risk Management
  • Regular reporting to your line management and the program management organization
  • Occasional travels to project integration sites or customer installations


We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor or higher degree in software development, aeronautical engineering or similar discipline
  • Extensive relevant professional experience
  • Hands-on proven project management experience in Simulation and/or Software projects
  • Excellent English (negotiation level)
  • Software development and integration experience in prior assignments
  • Aeronautical background and/or experience with aircraft mission systems
  • Experience in system- engineering and testing would be beneficial
  • Experience in Agile software development would be beneficial
  • Experience in training simulation would be beneficial
  • PMP certification would be beneficial
  • Experience in the defense industry would be beneficial, ideally in Airbus defence aircraft programs (Tornado, Eurofighter, A400M...)
