An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of an Industrial Assembly Specialist in Manufacturing Technologies based in Getafe. The successful candidate will join the Airbus Protect Industrial Innovation Team (APUIE1) within the Sustainability Business Unit.

The mission will be carried out within the Assembly Technology Team - OMTA, a highly motivated and engaged transnational team, located in 8 different sites in 4 countries.

Your overall responsibilities will involve the management of Assembly Technology projects in different production sites, representation of Manufacturing Engineering in Multi Functional Teams and involvement in Airbus wide projects on Assembly processes. OMTA - Assembly Technologies - is involved in the majority of the industrial changes in Airbus Commercial. They are supporting but also creating an impact on the shop floor by implementing new technologies and processes, keeping operators at the heart of what they are doing; a team of experts and specialists, understanding assembly steps and interdependencies, pain points from elementary parts to Final Assembly Line, supporting dissemination of technologies and production issues.

Interacting with lots of other functions (engineering, production, procurement, programs...), they ensure connection between all the plants.

They build upon that expertise to produce a robust technology plan, influencing in early stages and codesign mode the architecture of tomorrow to select, develop, deploy the most appropriate technology which bring competitive advantage for current and future programs.

We have to face challenges of tomorrow: ramp up, cost reduction, lead time reduction, quality improvement, maturity at entry into service, Non Value Added reduction.

The Main challenge is to prepare for future programs, for sustainability while maintaining high standards for our today's product portfolio.

The role …

  • Manage assembly projects with focus on best in class assembly process in collaboration with all production & assembly sites

  • Support production sites to adapt assembly processes to stabilize and improve production cycle & cost

  • Overall responsibilities will involve design and development of technologies & processes to support future R&T initiatives and new product strategy at Airbus

The role will be based in Getafe and will require travels depending upon specific projects and engagement with all sites.

Are you THE one ?

Engineering school or university degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering or similar.

Knowledge in manufacturing, engineering and assembly processes in aviation industry is a plus
