We are seeking an Airframe Structural Design Engineer profile with a minimum, and proof, between 10-15 years of experience in Metallics and Composites design and manufaturing technologies applied to the detailed design, as major A/C components than assemblies, elementary parts and interfaces for our concept, development and sustain Derivatives Programmes (e.g. MRTT+, MRTT, BOOM, POD,...)

Abilities, skills and competencies, we are looking for:

As a successful candidate, you should be able to demonstrate the following skills, competencies and previous experience:

  • Ability to design structures of major A/C components, elementary parts and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production / assembly requirements while highest safety standards of the Product are assured using appropriate Design Tools & Methods
  • Strong knowledge of Airbus methods, tools, regulations, procedures and directives is a plus.
  • Ability to identify the technical activities of the development E2E design product life cycle are necessary to develop a system/product and provide the level of confidence which is consistent with Aerospace Commercial+Military regulations under Airbus Defense derivatives programmes requirements.
  • Desirable previous skills, competences, knowledge with proof experience in other Airbus Defense and Airbus Commercial programmes and also S/C external companies management is a plus
  • Able to work in definition, concept and development phases interfacing with other stakeholders functions such as, Chief Engineer, Architects & Integrators, Stress, Systems analysis and Installation, Manufacturing, Configuration, Material & Processess, Certification and Airworthiness. And also with S/C external companies is a plus.
  • Level of Academic Studies requires: Preferable Master degree of Aeronautical or Industrial Engineer (similar engineering discipline or other degrees could be assessed)
  • Experience level: 10-15 years of experience in Metallic and Composites technologies applied to the Aerospace sector, specially in Airframe structural design, with a desirable experience in Wing, Empennage and Fuselage Structures, Systems instalation and Mechanism (e.g. Doors,...)
  • Structural Design Tools & Methods: Good level of design, configuration management and modelisation knownledge on Airbus overall design tools and methods use (e.g. Catia V5/V6, Catia Full 3D, EPD, Optegra, 3DX, SNT, Solings, DEMAT,...)
  • Additional knowledge or experience in Design for Manufacturing support (NC, Concessions, ERC, PcP, PM, SI,...) and In Service Support and Repairs (SB, AMM, SRM,...) will be a relevant advantage.
  • Languages: Good fluent level of English Language and Spanish.
  • Good communication, proactivity, goals oriented, open minded, collaborative, team working spirit and project management are expected

Tasks you will be involved:

As a member of our Airbus Defense Derivatives team, you will develop, perform and have the opportunity to be involved in the following challenging tasks and activities:

  • Learn and work in Concept, Definition and Development design for structural components, assemblies and installations for aircrafts with modern design tools (such as Catia, but no limited only, are the basic tools you will use in context with others stakeholders)
  • Establishment of the Design principles, Key Characteristics and Tolerancing Design, Interfaces & Frontiers definition. Active participation on the Collaborative process with Industrial Part Manufacturing & Assembly and Customer through Services.
  • Supporting the complete lifecycle of an aircraft product in a E2E Design Process, where you will use additional modern Tools and Software applications.
  • Strong working ties to other Engineering departments (e.g., stress, system installation, systems analysis, material & processes, manufacturing, aerodynamic, configuration, DMU, airworthiness, certification, arquitects & integration...) and interfacing Design will broaden continuously your knowledge.
  • In addition to other stakeholders, you will follow-up the design support of external S/C Tiers-1.
  • You will participate applying the state of the art of the design methods in the most of advanced Airbus Defense projects.
  • You will have the opportunity to see the result of your work in the final product and to be part of continuous improvement and innnovative technology projects.
  • Participation in the development of the technological areas of structural discipline and the possiblity to become a design expert.
