In order to support "Avionics Architecture and Lead Germany" organisation, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Data Handling Architect (d/f/m).

You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of spacecraft Data Handling Systems, specifically focusing on Mass Memory Formatting Units (MMFU). Your Core Missions:

• Architectural Leadership: Act as the central technical authority for On-Board Data Handling (OBDH), bridging the gap between Chief Engineers, customers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  
• System Design & Trade-offs: Conduct high-level trade-off studies and define hardware architectures that push the boundaries of data throughput and processing speed.
  
• End-to-End Requirement Engineering: Translate complex system-level needs into precise equipment specifications and manage the technical roadmap with suppliers.
  
• Interface Mastery: Orchestrate the vital data, electrical, and housekeeping interfaces between the spacecraft platform, payload instruments, and crypto units.
  
• Resource Management: Own the critical DHS budgets, including TM/TC, bus traffic, and processor performance.
  
• Validation & Launch: Lead the subsystem through electrical/functional testing (AIT), system reviews, and remain accountable for performance during Launch and In-Orbit Testing (IOT).
  

This position will be mainly focused on next generation MMFU development and interfaces within DHS subssytem.

Deine Mission auf den Punkt gebracht:

• System-Architektur: Du definierst die Hardware-Struktur der On-Board Data Handling (OBDH) Subsysteme und führst entscheidende Trade-off-Studien durch.
  
• Anforderungs-Design: Du brichst komplexe Kundenwünsche auf präzise technische Spezifikationen für das System und die Geräte herunter.
  
• Schnittstellen-Management: Du bist der Dreh- und Angelpunkt für Daten-, Housekeeping- und Krypto-Schnittstellen zwischen Plattform, Nutzlast und Bordcomputer.
  
• Full Lifecycle Support: Von der Begleitung der Fertigung (Co-Engineering) über elektrische Tests und Verifikation bis hin zum Launch- und In-Orbit-Support.
  
• Budget-Hoheit: Du steuerst kritische Parameter wie TM/TC, Bus-Lasten und Prozessorgeschwindigkeiten.
  
• Security-Lead: Du leitest das Krypto-Design an der Schnittstelle zwischen Hard- und Software.

Erforderliche Kenntnisse und Qualifikationen

• Langjährige Erfahrung in Datenverarbeitungssystemen (Data Handling Systems)
  
• Erfahrung in der Architektur von Hardware-Subsystemen für die Datenverarbeitung
  
• Erfahrung im Umgang mit Weltraumstandards (z. B. ECSS, CCSDS)
  
• Kenntnisse mit Umgebungen für Datenverarbeitungssysteme (z. B. Simulation, CAD)
  
• Erfahrung mit Hardware-Teststände
  
• Verhandlungssichere Englischkenntnisse ; Deutschkenntnisse sind ein klarer Vorteil für die Arbeit am Standort.
