Job Description: Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site is looking for a Summer Intern - Operational Excellence Analyst to join our Data and Analytics Plateau team based in Mobile, AL. In this role you will be exposed to the wide range of digital transformation impacts within the Mobile Manufacturing site. You will be working with and managing a wide range of stakeholders on site ranging from: Operations to Industrial Engineering. Meet the Team: As part of the Data and Analytics Plateau team, you will be part of a team focusing on digital systems and software solutions. Our mission is to seek, define, develop and deploy world class digital capabilities that systematically improve the way we work. Your Working Environment: In Mobile, AL on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. Summer internship program to last 6 months between dates:
Participate within the Data & Analytics plateau for MMS.
Support key digital initiatives on site within the development & deployment phases to the customers.
You will have dedicated support for development within the project management & technical domains.
Your Challenges:
Project Management: 40%
Project governance & risk tracking - Support the monitoring and reporting of project health, risks, and milestones across digital transformation initiatives.
Stakeholder engagement - Act as a communications focal point connecting technical data scientists/engineers with shop-floor operational end-users.
Change management - Help manage the human aspect of change by driving user adoption for newly launched digital systems and workspace tools.
Data Visualisation & Analytics / Data Management: 40%
Map data flows for a specific production process and create user-friendly dashboards to communicate key insights to shop-floor teams.
Perform exploratory analysis on structured operational data to identify statistical properties, uncover outlier trends, and clean initial data sets for future machine learning models.
Personal Skills Boost: 15%
Business understanding & production insights.
Upskilling on technical solutions & tools within a full time environment.
Additional responsibilities: 5%
Management of AD-HOC requests from key stakeholders.
Your Boarding Pass: Technical requirements
Academic Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Programming Fundamentals: Practical knowledge of programming languages such as Python, SQL, Java, C++, or Google Apps Script to support data extraction, integration, and basic script automation.
Digital Toolsets: Comfort handling general IT tools, digital system development basics, and workspace platforms (e.g., Google Workspace toolsets).

Able to work onsite in Mobile, AL for duration of Summer Internship, required
Curiosity & Problem-Solving: A rigorous, dynamic, and analytical mind with a genuine desire to learn and tackle complex multi-functional challenges.

Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Required daily.
Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Required daily.
Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Required daily.
Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment. Required daily.
Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. daily
Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs. daily
Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Rarely required.
Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Required daily.
Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Required infrequently.
Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Required daily.
Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Approximately 5% - 10%.
Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Required daily.
Personal Protective Equipment required: steel toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor
