Job Description:
Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Structures Assembler to join their team based in Mobile, AL.
To perform and assure structural assemblies of metallic and/or composite components (including hybrid stacks) following drawing requirements and applicable standards
This position is a temporary (contract) position with no specific time period but could be extended or shortened as needed. Contractors are employed by a 3rd party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America.

Your working environment:
- Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.
Your challenges:
- Carry out the preparation of the components to be assembled, both metallic and composite (including hybrid stacks).
- Check that the components to be assembled are those required in drawings and work orders.
- Load required serial components into the system.
- Load required serial components into the system.
- Perform drilling of components, ensure structural continuity, fastening parts, apply surface protections (such as sealant, alodine, etc.).
Your boarding pass:
Required:
- 2 years minimum experience in Aviation Production or equivalent
- Previous hands-on experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torquing tools
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Previous hands-on experience with drilling tools, templates, drilling machines, fasteners, and torquing tools
Preferred
- 5+ years minimum confirmed experience in Aviation Production
- Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
• Physical Requirements: Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify markings and digital outputs on calibrated tools. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions
• Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
• Speaking : able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
• Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms.
• Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 20 lbs./ while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
• Confined Space: able to enter and exit a 12" x 22" passage and work through a 9.7" x 17.7" opening while using a respirator within a confined space for various lengths of time.
• Heights: able to work at heights of approximately 40 feet on various types of platforms and lifts for various lengths of time
• Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs./.
• Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor.
• Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings .
• Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
• Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information.
• Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice. Able to work outside hangers in changing locations.
