Description:
Airbus is seeking a CAMEO Plugin & MBSE Tool Developer in Bangalore to implement Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor/ Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field, 4 to 6 years in IT with minimum ~4 years hands-on Programming Experience, ideally with at least 2-3 years directly focused on MBSE tools (preferably Cameo) and Java plu gin development
- Strong Technical Knowledge & Mindset:
- End-to-End Software Engineering: Proven ability to conduct comprehensive needs analysis, evaluate architectural solutions against the broader system, and ensure seamless integration within a complex enterprise ecosystem.
- Established Java & Software Engineering Foundation: This role requires a practicing software engineer. Candidates must already possess a strong, independent command of Java programming and prior hands-on software development experience.
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):
- SysML/UML fundamentals: It is of high importance to understand how these modeling languages are structured and understand the extensibility through Profiles and Stereotypes.
- Cameo Systems Modeler: Basic understanding of customization and tailoring means of the tool (Customization, Validation Rules, Legends, Derived Properties, Smart Manipulators, Perspectives...), be acquainted with its Open API and the overall plugin lifecycle management (from conception, operation, testing, packaging and end-user deployment).
- Experience with other Eclipse Modeling Framework based modeling tools is valued (i.e. Capella).
- Experience with other Eclipse Modeling Framework based modeling tools is valued (i.e. Capella).
- Eagerness to work with Modelling tools and upskill in order to better understand business needs is a must as candidates will have to apply their experience in software for this domain.
- SysML/UML fundamentals: It is of high importance to understand how these modeling languages are structured and understand the extensibility through Profiles and Stereotypes.
- DevOps orientation, knowledge of continuous integration frameworks and some of the following products/tools: Docker, Artifactory, Git, Jenkins, VersionOne, etc. (Good to have)
- Application packaging and deployment in software service platforms
- Sense of detail and passion for software and technologies that solve problems
- Curiosity & team player attitude, with a wish to evolve with your team
- Good communication & active listening
Responsibilities:
Your mission is to ensure technical coordination and robust IT architecture implementation & deployment. You will act as CAMEO plugin “Developer” through the following tasks:
- Understand, capture, anticipate, and challenge business needs.
- Synthesize and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
- Evaluate potential plugin or architectural solutions with strict consideration for the overall MBSE ecosystem.
- Design, write, debug, document, and maintain Java-based plugins for Cameo Systems Modeler.
- Actively create and manipulate UML/SysML models within Cameo to deeply understand user requirements, test plugin behaviors, and validate system constraints.
- Write and automate unit and integration tests in Java, and perform rigorous manual functional testing directly inside the Cameo user interface to ensure optimal end-user behavior.
- Manage the end-to-end packaging of plugins (e.g., RDZIP files) and handle version configurations.
- Act as the entry point for the DevOps Team, collaborating directly to deploy solutions using tools like Git, Jenkins, and Artifactory, and ensuring best practices in the CI/CD environment.
- Investigate, debug, and resolve complex "broken tool" scenarios, missing dependencies, or versioning conflicts reported by the engineering teams.
- Deliver regular major upgrades of the toolset, ensuring smooth migration, entry into service, and clear internal support guidelines for our end-user community.
- Define technical interfaces with other processes in collaboration with the Architecture team.
- Maintain a Technology Watch regarding MBSE implementation and deployment (scholastic and industrial experience).
