Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Services Architect and Business Development Manager (f/m) to join our experienced and passionate Strategic planning team within Airbus’ Customer Services Department based in Toulouse, France.

Thanks to our Customer-centric approach and knowledge of the air transport ecosystem market evolutions, partnership landscape and technology trends, our team of strategists and services architects drive and coordinate the definition of Airbus Aftermarket Strategic priorities, in alignment with the corporate objectives and regional specificities, around and beyond the aircraft platforms.

We define together the mid and long term positioning of services for the next 2 to 15 years.

Your challenges:

As part of Airbus aftermarket strategy, you will be accountable for designing the Services architecture for digital trading business and connectivity, from strategy down to overall development plan, by:

  • Evaluating different scenarios in order to find the optimum between Customer Value, technical feasibility and Airbus positioning, whilst ensuring consistency with Airbus aftermarket strategy and Product policy requirements
  • Assessing the value of a potential system of Services based on robust financial models, for Airbus, its Customers and Suppliers when appropriate
  • Leveraging the most appropriate business development tools (e.g. M&A, partnerships, Innovation, strategic initiatives)
  • Formulating strategic questions into meaningful recommendations
  • Formulating requirements towards enabling functions, for instance in order to optimise designs and maximize Airbus competitive advantage and unique selling point in relation to the projects under his/her responsibility
  • Influence and convince stakeholders to validate and prepare the deployment and execution of the system architecture in the Customer Services Business Lines.

Your main activities:

  • Orchestrate given strategic initiatives with all relevant stakeholders inside and outside the organization
  • Run strategic value assessment scenarios for Airbus and its customers in order to feed the relevant decision-making process
  • Formulate end-to-end Service offers by integrating different business line needs in terms of strategic development.
  • Co-design Top Level Support and Services Requirements (TLSR) to unlock Airbus services growth related to current aircraft programmes and future platforms or developments
  • Formulate Customer Services requirements and priorities to R&T, Innovation, Procurement, Digital, Design
  • Propose new and/or disruptive services answering Customer Services strategic questions
  • Investigate best potential solutions, including partnerships and M&A

Your boarding pass:

  • Educated to engineering degree level, with at least 15 years of experience and strong technical background. An MBA would be a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of the Commercial Aviation industry
  • Experience in Customer Services activities (e.g. Customers, aftermarket ecosystem...)
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience negotiating and working on contracts
  • Experience in system or aircraft architecture would be a plus.
  • You have a strong business acumen and a good understanding of financial drivers and business cases
  • You are recognized for your leadership, communication and negotiation skills
  • You are autonomous and able to work within a team and in a multicultural environment
  • You are recognized for your ability to work with multiple stakeholders and your ability to work with short deadlines.

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
