We are looking for a

Senior Simulation Software Engineer (d/f/m)

to join our team in Manching, who will take part in the definition and implementation of complex simulation architectures for the A400M Programme.

You will be part of the A400M Full Flight Simulator (FFS) Military Software Package team and work on the future training simulator developments, including the Block Ugrade 0 and Mid-Life Upgrade activities. The A400M simulators will play a role in the development of the Future Air Combat System (FCAS). Therefore, collaboration with internal Airbus stakeholders to modernize an existing installed base of training devices (FFS) to use state-of-the-art technologies is planned. At the core, our the simulations are distributed real-time applications. Most of our software is written in C and C++, but Python, Java, Groovy or Bash are also used for certain tools.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Design the architecture of software models for training simulators
  • Develop suitable simulations that support high-level operational and system requirements from various stakeholders
  • Maintain and modernize the software architecture of existing products
  • Design and agree simulation interfaces with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the definition of Work Breakdown Structures and individual work packages
  • Support Systems Engineering activites including requirements definition, implementation and verification
  • Support the improvement of exisitng development processes
  • Support integration and acceptance testing.


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or similar
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven experience in Software architecture, design and development
  • Excellent C++ skills. Other programming languages / Frameworks are welcome (Qt / QML, Go, Python, Rust...)
  • English negotiation level. German and/or Spanish is a plus.
