This position is part of our Safety Business Unit, which aims to enable safer, greener and more inclusive industries and transportation systems.
Task description
- Definition of complex Integrated Modular Avionics (ATA 42) processes and plans
- Define System (L2/L3 level) requirements for an IMA System and components
- Define IMA System architecture. • Define corresponding validation and verification actions
- Drive compliance demonstration activities in accordance with RTCA DO-297
- Support IMA integration with simulated and actual aircraft systems
- Interface with international and integrated project teams
- Assumption of functional and/or project-related tasks in projects
- Preparation of documentation and presentation of work results
Required qualifications
The work task requires knowledge and skills, which are usually provided by a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or comparable courses of study and advanced subject-specific additional qualification or completed vocational training with a corresponding, particularly extensive, subject-specific additional qualification. The overall knowledge and experience required may have been acquired in other ways
Skills and competences
- Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
- Advanced enowledge and experience in airborne systems engineering
- Profound experience with ARP4754A/ED-79A
- Profound experience in certification and qualification of IMA systems through DO-297 or similar
- Good knowledge in DO-178C, DO-330/ED-215, DO-331/ED-218 and ARINC 653 developments
- Experience in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) would be a benefit
- Highly motivated, customer-oriented and open-minded person with a great sense of initiative and the ability to adapt to changes and to manage confidential topics
- Very good communication skills
- Very good written and spoken German and English
- Willingness for business trips domestically and abroad

Your regular place of work is Manching. Within the scope of your duties, you will be deployed at the Airbus Defense and Space location Manching after your start at Airbus Protect until the end of the operational requirements. After your return, you will be deployed at your regular place of work
