Quality Engineering is a transnational team providing quality assurance as part of Airbus Commercial Aircraft to develop designs and technologies for both our new aircraft programmes and the development of our existing products.
We work closely alongside our engineering teams to assure our products comply with all the regulatory requirements, maintain safety standards, and safeguard Airbus’s reputation.
An apprenticeship in Quality Engineering will give you the opportunity to work across all the Airbus Commercial Aircraft programmes. You will gain a working knowledge of the development, production and in-service processes used to create passenger aircraft, freighters and private jets. Starting your career in Quality Engineering provides a wide breadth of experience giving you a solid foundation for progression throughout Airbus.
What you will be doing:
From the very start of your apprenticeship, you will spend two days a week working within the quality engineering teams at the Airbus facility at Filton (Bristol). The rest of the time you will study with Weston College towards your Engineering Manufacturing Technician Level 4 qualification.
In second year and beyond, you will progressively spend less time at college and more time engaged in projects and activities within the business.
Throughout your apprenticeship you will complete a number of placements within quality engineering and other related functions. You will undertake various quality assurance activities such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), root cause analysis, problem solving, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), big data analysis and design assurance.
You will gain an excellent understanding of how quality engineering contributes to the successful design and delivery of modern commercial airliners. You will gain experience of working as part of a large multi-disciplinary transnational team engaged in the forefront of aerospace engineering. You will learn how to put into practice the latest quality methods and make use of the most modern digitalisation tools.
Requirements:
In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:
3 A Levels A to C which must include Maths OR one Science related subject
OR
Access to Higher Education Diploma
OR
Level 3 Vocational Equivalent subject to validation
AND
GCSE Maths and English Language – Minimum of Grade 4/C

Important Information:
GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the required grades before the apprenticeship start date.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
Our apprenticeship roles do not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas & Immigration to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.
