As a Customer Services Engineering Apprentice you will study with our Educational Training Partner Weston College to achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and a NVQ2 Advanced Manufacturing Engineering qualification. Alongside this, your work based training will take place at our industry leading design, test and manufacturing hub, Airbus Filton in Bristol.


Customer Services is responsible for supporting the entire Airbus fleet through providing in-service solutions, maintenance requirements and procedures while ensuring continued airworthiness and safety of the flying fleet. You will be the face of Airbus in front of our customers providing support and assistance with technical queries ensuring customer satisfaction with every interaction.


What you will be doing:

At Airbus Filton you will spend time in Customer Services immersing yourself in the day-to-day activity of supporting the entire Airbus fleet maintaining quality and airworthiness of our aircraft. You will undertake a range of on-site placements, having the opportunity to cover a number of disciplines that will allow you to gain a broad range of exposure to our world class Airbus commercial aircraft programmes. You will develop a strong customer centric mindset where you will apply technical knowledge to solve customer issues and provide industry leading support.

This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of on the job training at Airbus and college based learning over the duration of the 3 year programme. The types of placements you can expect to undertake are the following:

  • Scheduled Maintenance - Work with the Design Office, Customers and Aviation Authorities to define and establish the Airbus Maintenance Program.

  • Service Bulletins Retrofit solutions - Provide recommended, mandated and operator requested in-service modifications.

  • Ground Support Equipment & Tooling - Designing, testing, validating and supporting tooling and equipment, to assist customers with maintenance, repairs and the overall operability of the aircraft.

  • Technical Data - Production of approved maintenance procedures and parts catalogue for the continued airworthiness of their aircraft operations.

  • Spares Engineering - Providing support to major and daily repairs by resolving technical issues in coordination with procurement, production, logistics and quality.

  • Supplier Management - Working closely with our suppliers to obtain the documentation needed to support our Airbus authoring lines and the customer Directly.


In addition, to your work placements and studies, there are a number of excellent training opportunities open to you that cover a variety of subjects, as well as encouraging you to get involved in extracurricular education and community projects designed to broaden your experience and help you develop both your professional and personal skills along the way.


Requirements:

In order to be eligible to this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above which must include Maths, English Language and Double Science (CC) or Physics (C).

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • The ability to listen, understand and communicate information;

  • The desire to work in a technical team environment;

  • A strong interest in developing yourself;

  • Interest in finding creative solutions to complex problems;

  • Submit your CV stating your grades and if they are predicted or achieved;

  • Submit a Cover Letter stating your motivations.


Important Information:

GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the required grades before the apprenticeship start date.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check) .

Our apprenticeship roles do not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas & Immigration to enable sponsorship of migrant workers.
