Job Description

Job Description:

The Finance NextGen Programme is an Airbus Helicopters development programme. The Finance NextGen Programme - sponsored by Airbus Helicopters' CFO - enables its participants to enhance financial know-how and expertise, combined with further learning in management and leadership competencies.

This is a high-visibility position where financial expertise meets operational execution. The individual will directly influence the cost structure and strategic success of the company leading up to 2030, making it a career-defining role for a finance professional with an interest in business transformation.

The mission of the programme:

  • Fostering and deepening participants’ financial knowledge and expertise on the Airbus world of Finance, enlarging the scope to the international financial context
  • Linking formal learning with rotating, real-business project assignments
  • Increasing participants’ project management and leadership competencies
  • Encouraging networking, job shadowing, mobility and cross-cultural experiences
  • Mentorship from a member of the Finance Top Management

This Program consists of two assignments in two different countries. Each assignment lasts for a period of two years. They are combined with off-the-job modules, designed to strengthen participant’s management and financial competencies.

Job Description and Tasks

We are looking for a Transformation Business Controller to serve as the financial engine of the AHE Transformation 2030 plan. This role is a hybrid of high-level financial controlling and hands-on operational PMO. The objective is to ensure that every transformation project is not only executed on time but is backed by a rigorous business case and delivers measurable financial impact to the company’s bottom line.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate will be embedded within AHE Finance Organization, acting as the bridge between Finance and Operations:

  • Financial Governance: Lead the financial definition of the AHE Transformation 2030 roadmap, aligning project outcomes with company-wide KPIs and long-term strategy.
  • Operational Integration: Work in the field with project leaders to build robust business cases, ensuring a clear focus on Return on Investment (ROI) and cost efficiency from the definition phase to closure.
  • Performance Tracking: Perform "project drumbeating" through a financial lens-tracking milestones, analyzing variances, and managing the Score project cost-saving mechanisms in the Europe Region.
  • Strategic Reporting: Transform complex data into actionable insights via the Transformation Room Dashboards, enabling leadership to make informed decisions based on real-time financial health.
  • Cross-Functional Efficiency: Drive the transition from departmental silos to transversal cost structures, identifying efficiencies in both direct and structural areas.
  • Change Advocacy: Support communication and deployment of the plan, emphasizing the financial value and sustainability of initiatives (Inclusion, Diversity, and Sustainability).

Candidate Profile & Competencies

We need a candidate with the analytical "teeth" of a controller and the agility of a project manager:

  • Financial Expertise: Strong knowledge of financial indicators and experience in managing cost-reduction targets and business case construction.
  • Operational PMO Knowledge: Familiarity with project management fundamentals (Airbus PM Academy or PMI preferred) to effectively guide project lifecycles and gates.
  • Business Partnering: Proven ability to integrate into operational teams, influencing stakeholders without direct authority to ensure financial discipline.
  • Analytical Mindset: High-level data collection and reporting skills; able to visualize complex financial data for executive review.
  • Values-Driven: A commitment to continuous improvement and a positive attitude toward the company’s social and environmental transformation goals.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
