Job Description - Mechanical System Installation Engineer

Required skills: (Mandatory)

  • Qualification: Bachelors/Masters in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering
  • Experience: Minimum 5 Years of overall experience with a minimum 3 years of Mechanical/Hydro-Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Component Design experience.
  • Technical skills:
    • Conceptualization as per design requirements
    • Detail Design including Basic design calculations, Material and protective process selection, Creation of Component, Assembly and installation drawings
    • Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Testing
    • Design for various environmental conditions
    • Validation and Verification Planning
    • Exposure to Product Development life cycle including Design, Development, Qualification, Testing and release
    • Exposure to Configuration and Change Management
    • Exposure to Design review process
    • Proficiency in any one Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool
  • Soft Skills: Good communication and Multiple Stakeholder Management are mandatory.

Roles & Responsibilities: You will be Engineering Technical responsible for Landing Gear Modifications (MODs) that includes responsibilities but not limited to

  • Evaluating Supplier Modification proposals
  • Interact with multiple stakeholders to Identify and develop MOD Statement of work (SoW)
  • Development and deployment of Project plan for identified SoW
  • Ability to work with supplier in defining verification and validation criteria
  • Review of Supplier Engineering documentation for MODs including Design, Justification, Qualification, Certification and Maintenance documents
  • Assisting Signatories in review of Engineering Documentation and support release process
  • Continuous follow-ups with stakeholders to ensure adherence to planned timelines
  • Technical & Schedule Risk management
  • Developing Engineering documentation needed for Certification
  • Responsible for delivering Quality, Team and project goals/objectives

Desired Skills: (Not Mandatory but good to have)

  • Exposure to Airbus projects including but not limited to Landing Gear will be an added advantage
  • Technical skills:
    • Requirement Development and Decomposition
    • Exposure to System and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) design
    • Exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) Process
    • Exposure to Performance and/or Structural analysis
    • Exposure to (Design) Failure Modes and Effects Analysis [(D)FMEA]
    • Exposure to Engineering Quality Management
    • Strong experience with Catia V5 for the creation & validation of 3D models and exposure to
    • 3DXperience would be an added advantage.
    • DMU understanding and navigation of Product Structure with clear understanding.
    • Knowledge on Aircraft build process and basic understanding of Aircraft systems.
    • Experience in handling PDM/VPM tools and link to CAD models with design in context
    • environment.
    • Good Project Management skills to drive the performance KPIs & improvements proactively.
