Context:
Within the scope of the Materials & Processes (M&P) engineering, the job holder will
contribute towards the global effort to design, develop & qualify sustainable materials and
related manufacturing processes along the Aircraft lifecycle.

Details:
A permanent job opportunity has arisen for a M&P Engineer (Assembly Technology) within
Airbus based in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join the Airframe - M&P team
within Airbus India Engineering.
The jobholder will be contributing to overall aircraft development through research,
development, testing and validation of Assembly Products and Processes such as Fasteners,
Structural Hardware Parts, Assembly processes like drilling, torque tightening etc . All Aircraft
programs and multiple ATA chapters across the entire lifecycle of the aircraft are in the
perimeter of this position.

Job Description
As a M&P Engineer (Assembly Technology), job holder will be responsible for following
activities:
• Define, develop, simulate, test, validate and deploy mature Assembly Technology products and
processes for industrial application
• Define Materials and Processes requirements thru technical documentation such as product
standards and technical specifications
• Lead Technical Qualification and Standardization projects on Assembly Products and Processes
together with multiple stakeholders (Airbus internal and external stakeholders spread across
different geographies)
• Analyze simulation / test data in order to verify the structural performance of assembly
technology and fastening systems
• Lead re-tendering project work packages for Engineering (Technical Qualification Projects)

• Review and validate non-conformities (Concessions) reported on Assembly products and
processes
• Propose and Lead
• Research projects towards development of next generation Assembly products and
processes (through industry and university collaborations)
• Plant improvement projects towards performance improvement, rate increase and RC
reduction
• Simulation projects on fastening systems and assembly processes.
• Digitalization / automation / robotics Projects
• Provide Assembly Technology expertise on In-service & Quality Issues
• Support to Business Operations Support (BOS) queries
• Comply with ways of working agreed between European Engineering Entities and the Indian
Engineering Centre.
• Contribute to overall Materials and process activities managed at Airbus India
• Adhere to Quality & Reporting practices as defined by the management from time to time

Skills
• Hands-on experience with product development, testing and qualification of fasteners OR
structural components / standard parts for OEMs
• Experience with developing and deploying assembly processes and associated toolings
• Hands-on experience with materials & component testing and analysis of the test results
• Exposure to Implementation & qualification of NADCAP special processes
• Thorough understanding on Metallic & non-metallic Materials
• Thorough understanding on surface treatments and corrosion prevention techniques
• Understanding on different metallic / non-metallic manufacturing processes
• Creation of Technical documentation such as product standards, technical
specifications, test plans, test reports etc.
• Ability to read manufacturing / design drawings / BoMs and understand the technical
requirements
• Basic understanding on GD&T
• Basic understanding on statistical methods , process capability & APQP
• Simulation skills on manufacturing / assembly / industrial processes and exposure to
relevant tools and softwares would be an added advantage
• Experience with Digitalization / Automation projects will be an added advantage
• Experience with design softwares like CATIA would be an advantage
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and collaborate on technical and operational
topics
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and across all departments combined
with a solutions-oriented mindset
• A team player and ability to perform in an agile environment
• Strong Project Management skills in a multicultural environment

• Communication skills with highest level of English fluency (Oral and written)

Qualification
• Masters or Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Metallurgy
